1. It is a story about a guy who becomes a beggar and then is picked up off the streets and thrown into an army. He escapes and then is given two coins by some people.

2. You have to earn what you get.

3. He is saying it is often unfair.

4. He is giving to a poor man when he was once in the same position.

5. I think it is fine the way he put it because the saying everything happens for a reason if fine but many people don't have a good life and it may seem unfair.

1. Candide is studying at a great castle when he messed around with the Castle host's wife. He was banished and left out in the cold. He was found by the Bulgarians and made a soldier. He was about to be beheaded when the Bulgarian King spared his life. All the while Candide believe everything happens for a reason. He was in a great battle but hid for fear of death. He went to a Christian village and was cast down by the men but a women treated him with mercy and then he passed that mercy down to his former scholar who had turned into a beggar.

2.That everything happens for a reason and everything has an end, with a purpose. He also portrays that what comes around goes around as Candide was kicked out of the castle and he later found the Master of the Castle out in the dirt.

3. War and Government in Candide show that everything is the same because both the armies do the same damage to each other in the story. Religion is shown because the religious man didn't help Candide when a non-religious person did, so its ironic.

4. The irony in Pangloss's return is that he shows up as a beggar and reaches out for help from Candide. The weird thing is that he kicked Candide out of the castle to live on the streets and now he is living on the street.

5. I don't agree with his argument because somethings are not for the best. For example, the Jewish genocide was very unnecessary.

4. he is a poor man that recieves two coins from candide. when he was in the same positon as him.

5. yes i agree that the saying is good and i think that he is a little bitter towards it but he has many good valid points but you have to work for what you get.

1. This is about a guy who had becomes a begger living on the streets because he had been fooling around with a woman of the castle who he is not supposed to be with. Then he gets taken off the streets and put into the army. He then escapes because he was afraid of death. Then ends up in this town where he is punished for his religious beliefs.

2. That everything happens for a reason. and also one thing leads to another.

3. The government he satirized how that some believed that they had God on their side. With religion, a religious man didn't help him out when he needed help but a non religious man did. And that religious people are sort of selfish and make him feel unworthy.

4. That he is reaching out to Candide because he is a begger but the irony is that he kicked Candide out making him become a begger. He's sort of in the same position as Candide was.

5. I don't really agree with the whole " Everything that happens to you, happens for the best." Not everything that happens to you is for the best like losing a friend or family member, it's not for the best because it doesn't benefit you in anyway. I do believe that "Everything happens for a reason" because it's not just saying it's for the best but it can be for the worst too.
